NFL PICKS WEEK 3

I am 12-17-3 for the season so far. John is 14-15-3. Tony is 5-3

This weeks' picks are:

1.) New Orleans Saints (2-0) at home (-4) VS Atlanta Falcons(1-1)
The Saints have failed to cover in both games. They should have lost to the Niners. The Falcons lost a close game in Pittsburgh and crushed the Cardinals. Michael Turner will play and the Saints don't look explosive on offense. Reggie Bush is out six weeks too.
PREDICTION: FALCONS TO COVER

2.) San Francisco 49ers (0-2)  (-2.5) at Kansas City (2-0)
The Niners gave the Saints a gift on Monday night. Kansas City is not really a surprise at 2-0 and Arrowhead is as tough as it gets on the road. In the end, the Niners need this more than the Chiefs and are still a better team in terms of talent. Desperation pays off.
PREDICTION: 49ers

3.) Minnesota (0-2) at home (-11.5) VS Detroit(0-2)
A lot of points for a Vikings team struggling to score points. I just don't like it.
PREDICTION: LIONS TO COVER

4.) Houston Texans (2-0) at home (-3) VS Dallas Cowboys(0-2)
I've never been so happy to be wrong in a Super Bowl prediction. Think the Cowboys miss Flozelle Adams? The Texans tried to give a win to the Redskins last week and I still think Kubiak's poor judgement will cost them down the road. Not this week. Wade Phillips gets fired after the game.
PREDICTION: TEXANS

5.) New York Giants (1-1) at home (-3) VS Tennessee Titans (1-1)
The Giants have played well in only two of the eight quarters they've played. The Titans were abused by the Steelers defense and were still game in the end. The Giants DL doesn't look very good and if Chris Johnson gets on the LB's, look out. All in all I see more fighting spirit in the Titans.
PREDICTION: TITANS

6.) New England Patriots (1-1) at home (-14.5) Buffalo Bills (0-2)
The Pats lost a game that was played against their tempo last week. All you who thought 13 was too much in Green Bay last week should learn your lesson. Rivalry games don't stay competitive when one side has so little talent. The Bills can't score points.
PREDICTION: PATRIOTS

7.) Baltimore Ravens (1-1) at home (-10.5) VS Cleveland Browns (0-2)
This is a valid rivalry game. The Browns lost by three to the Bucs and by two to the Chiefs. The Ravens are better. I do hate the points, but I think the Ravens grind it out.
PREDICTION: RAVENS

8.) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-0) (-2.5) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)
*Note to Mike: You ought to be thankful I'm not picking the BUCS this week either. They're 2-0 against my picks. The Steelers will be starting Charlie Batch. Honest to God. How good are the Steelers? Devastating defense says it all. The BUCS have their QB in Freeman, but do you think Polamalu can bait the young QB? I won't be able to answer that because apparently there aren't enough Steelers fans in Tampa to sell out the game. BLACKOUT. If this one didn't sell out, we can look forward to six more.
PREDICTION: STEELERS

9.) Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) (-3) at Carolina Panthers (0-2)
Jimmy Claussen gets his first start this week and good for him. The Panthers offense is not as good as the Ravens offense and they got hammered by the Bengals D.
PREDICTION: BENGALS

10.) Washington Redskins (1-1) (-3.5) at St Louis Rams(0-2)
This is an intriguing game. Bradford has played within himself and the Rams have stayed close. Losing by four to the Cardinals and by two to the Raiders.
PREDICTION: RAMS TO COVER

11.) Philadelphia (1-1) (-3) at Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1)
Vick makes this a win. Hot weather and all.
PREDICTION: EAGLES

12.) Indianapolis Colts (1-1) (-5.5) at Denver Broncos (1-1)
Knowshon Moreno is out for Denver. The Broncos play hard and Denver is a tough road game. Not enough
PREDICTION: COLTS

13.) San Diego Chargers (1-1) (-5.5) at Seattle Seahawks (1-1)
UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PREDICTION: CHARGERS

14.) Arizona Cardinals (1-1) at home (-4.5) vs Oakland Raiders (0-2)
Bruce Gradkowski gets the start and the Cardinals offense looks anemic.
PREDICTION: RAIDERS TO COVER

15.) Miami Dolphins (2-0) at home (-2.5) vs New York Jets (1-1)
This rivalry is as good as it gets. The Dolphins out to be able to run without Kris Jenkins in the middle and Darrelle Revis will not suit up. Rule of thumb: NEVER take the favorite in this match up
PREDICTION: JETS

16.) Green Bay Packers (2-0) (-3) at Chicago Bears (2-0)
Jay Cutler is looking like a real QB, so far, instead of just a hard thrower. Pack lack a running game. The Bears a home dog on national television against storied rivals Green Bay?
PREDICTION: BEARS TO COVER

2 comments:

  1. Lions - Lots of points for the home dog.

Cowboys - I hope I'm wrong on this one but I don't see the Cowboys starting out 0-3.

Steelers - I think they covered their first two games.

Eagles - Vick will shine as a starter.
