Peter King: Reid Already Has Deal For 1st Rounder For Kolb

Sports Illustrated’s Peter King says the Eagles have an offer in place from a team to get a first round draft pick for Kevin Kolb, but Reid is trying to get a better first round pick for the backup quarterback.

That’s some great information to have out for the Eagles, being that they want to move Kolb with the quickness.

On April 6th a U.S. District Court judge will hear arguments on the both sides of the request for an injunction by the NFL Players Association. The players want a judge to step in and stop the lockout by the owners which prevents any trades or any other activities in the league outside of the upcoming draft.

For those of you who don’t know it, King and Reid are good friends. Reid talks to King more openly than just about any other journalists and King always has nice things to say about Reid. I don’t know any more than that about their relationship, but the fact that they have a relationship

Do I believe Reid has number draft pick offer for Kolb? Possibly, but I wouldn’t take it to the bank because King has been wrong on other comments. As for Reid trying to get more than is already being offered, that sounds like they’re trying to get a sucker on the hook.

Remember also that a deal can’t be done, so would a team bluff the Eagles knowing that right now, they couldn’t make a trade any way. How did this story get out? Surely it came from the Eagles side, since they’re the ones with something to gain if it’s true.
