NFL PICKS WEEK THREE 2011

John and I both went 8-6-2 last week. I am now 13-15-3 for the season and John is 15-13-3

1.) Cincinnati Bengals (1-1) (-3) at home vs. San Francisco 49ers (1-1)
Well, the Bengals defense is playing well and taking advantage of a week early schedule. The Niners coming this far east is problematic.
PREDICTION: BENGALS

2.) New England Patriots (2-0) (-7.5) at Buffalo Bills (2-0)
This is a bridge too far for the Bills. If they can establish a solid running game behind league leader Fred Jackson, then they have a chance. They came back to beat the Raiders at home last week, but the Pats are far more balanced than the Raiders and the Bills defense can't match up. Also, they haven't beaten the Pats since 2003 in the famous Lawyer Milloy Bowl.
PREDICTION: PATS

3.) New Orleans Saints (1-1) at home (-4) vs. Houston Texans (2-0)
The Texans will win their division by default. They can run and throw, but can they stop the Saints offense at home under the Superdome? No.
PREDICTION: SAINTS

4.) Philadelphia Eagles (1-1) (-9) at home vs. New York Giants (1-1)
Under normal circumstanced in this rivalry you take the Giants and the points, but this is not normal conditions. The Eagles will score points. The offensive line is not only looking good it's beginning to dominant. Trent Cole gets to line up on 2nd year guy William Beatty. Game on. So, won't the Giants run the ball? Yes, and well, even with eight in the box. Won't that set up play action? Yes, but who is Eli going to throw the ball too? They didn't resign Plaxico. Steve Smith is with the Eagles, Mario Manningham has a concussion and is doubtful. Oh, and Domenik Hixon is out. Oh, do you think they'll exploit the Eagles linebackers with the TE? Name the Giants starting TE. Can You? Kevin Boss? He's in Oakland. That leaves Hakeem Nicks and oh let me see, Michael Clayton? Yeah, I'm pretty sure three Pro Bowl corners ought to do well. Strange things happen in this rival, but this has predictable all over it.
PREDICTION: EAGLES

5.) Cleveland Browns at home (1-1) (-1.5) vs. Miami Dolphins (0-2)
The Browns have a history of choking at home, but the Dolphins have little to offer.
PREDICTION: BROWNS

6.) Tennessee Titans (1-1) at home (-7) vs. Denver Broncos (1-1)
Tennessee looks like it's getting its act together and Chris Johnson has sucked so far. The Broncos on the road? No.
PREDICTION: TITANS

7.) Detroit Lions (2-0) (-3) at Minnesota Vikings (0-2)
This is a make or break game for the Vikings. They are getting older and the younger Lions are better. This is a changing of the guard game.
PREDICTION: LIONS

8.) Carolina Panthers (0-2) at home (-3.5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1)
If Cam Newton throws for 400 yards he will become the first QB in NFL history to do so in three consecutive games. Count on it. Especially since rookie QB is starting for the JAGS.
PREDICTION: PANTHERS

9.) San Diego Chargers (1-1) at home (-14.5) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (0-2)
The points are daunting especially in a rivalry game. No Jamal Charles screwed any chance for the Chiefs to compete. They're awful.
PREDICTION: CHARGERS

10.) New York Jets (2-0) (-3) at Oakland Raiders (1-1)
The Raiders can run the ball and the Jets are vulnerable. This could be an upset special, but with Jason Campbell at QB, I figure the JETS CB's take advantage.
PREDICTION: JETS

11.) Baltimore Ravens (1-1) (-5) at St. Louis Rams (0-2)
The Ravens must be itching for a fight after last week's let down against the Titans. The Rams are just too beat up.
PREDICTION: RAVENS

12.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-1) at home (-5) vs. Atlanta Falcons (1-1)
I won't be watching this game because it's blacked out. The Falcons got away with a win last week, but they are hurting.
PREDICTION: BUCS

13.) Arizona Cardinals (1-1) (-3) at Seattle Seahawks (0-2)
The Seahawks are screwed.
PREDICTION: CARDINALS

14.) Green Bay Packers (2-0) (-4) at Chicago Bears (1-1)
For all the Bears problems, this is a rivalry that screams that four points are way too many.
PREDICTION: BEARS TO COVER

15.) Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1) (-10.5) at Indianapolis Colts (0-2)
Really?
PREDICTION: STEELERS

16.) Dallas Cowboys (1-1) at home (EVEN) vs. Washington Redskins (2-0)
It is even because a final decision has not been made on Tony Romo. Tough choice in a rivalry like this. The Redskins held onto a one point win over the Cardinals last week and got a beat up Giants team in week one.
PREDICTION: COWBOYS
