NFL PICKS WEEK EIGHT 2011

John and I were both 7-6 last week. I am 42-55-5 for the season. John is 47-50-5.

Here are this weeks picks.

1.) Tennessee Titans (3-3) at home (-9) vs. Indianapolis Colts (0-7)
The Titans haven't exactly lit it up, but the Colts are smarting from an annihilation at the hands of the Saints. The Titans aren't the Saints, but would anyone really risk making this their Upset Special?
PREDICTION: TITANS

2.) Houston Texans (4-3) at home (-9.5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5)
The Jags defense was lights out in its upset win over the Ravens on Monday night but the Texans have more offense.
PREDICTION:TEXANS

3.) Carolina Panthers (2-5) at home (-3.5) vs. Minnesota Vikings (1-6)
Minnesota showed some fight with Christian Ponder at QB last week and the Panthers are susceptible to the run. But on the other hand the Vikings defense is too old to keep up with Cam Newton.
PREDICTION: PANTHERS

4.) New Orleans Saints (5-2) (-13.5) at St. Louis Rams (0-6)
I like Steve Spagnuola, but he's toast.
PREDICTION: SAINTS

5.) Baltimore Ravens (4-2) at home (-12.5) vs. Arizona Cardinals (1-5)
This outcome depends on which Ravens offense shows, but more importantly the Cardinals defense is not nearly as good as the Jags. Add to that an anemic and confused Cardinals offense against the Ravens defense and the outcome is inevitable.
PREDICTION: RAVENS

6.) New York Giants (4-2) at home (-10) vs. Miami Dolphins (0-6)
The Dolphins on the road against a Giants team coming off a bye week?
PREDICTION: GIANTS

7.) Buffalo Bills (4-2) at home in Toronto (-4.5) vs. Washington Redskins (3-3)
The wheels are off the Redskins.
PREDICTION: BILLS

8.) Detroit Lions (5-2) (-3) at Denver Broncos (2-4)
If Tim Tebow pulls this off it truly will be a miracle.
PREDICTION: LIONS

9.) New England Patriots (5-1) (2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
The Steelers just don't have it to beat the PATS. It's a bad match up all around.
PREDICTION: PATS

10.) San Francisco 49ers (5-1) at home (-9) vs. Cleveland Browns (3-3)
This might have worked for Cleveland at home, but their offense is worse on the road.

PREDICTION: 49ers

11.) Cincinnati Bengals (4-2) (1.5) at Seattle Seahawks (2-4)
Seattle is a different team at home, but losing to Cleveland after crushing the Giants was a head scratcher. I'll ride the Seahawks one more time.
PREDICTION: SEAHAWKS

12.) Philadelphia Eagles (2-4) at home (-3) vs. Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
The Eagles are off a bye week and Andy Reid always pulls out all the stops against the Cowboys.
PREDICTION: EAGLES

13.) San Diego Chargers (4-2) (-3) at Kansas City Chiefs (3-3)
You have to hand it to Todd Haley. The Chiefs looked like the worst team in the NFL and he's got them on a three game winning streak. The Chargers are efficient but uninspiring and are getting the Chiefs on national television when they're at their hottest.
PREDICTION: CHIEFS
