Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson's 2011 season was somewhat of a disappointment. He held out of camp for a short while and some questioned his focus.
Nonetheless the Eagles gave Jackson a big contract during the offseason. According to Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe, Jackson received his $47 million extension, in good measure, because former team president Joe Banner had his contract power usurped.
According to Bedard, Banner would have never done the deal.
