Danny O'Neil from the Seattle Times reports Terrell Owens was among the players notified of his release by the Seattle Seahawks.
Owens was signed by Seattle during the second week of training camp. He caught two passes in the two exhibition games he played for 41 yards. Owens was signed to a one-year contract for the veteran minimum, which is just under $1 million for a player of his experience. He was never considered a lock to make the roster, and with Sidney Rice returning from shoulder surgery and Braylon Edwards playing well, he was considered an increasing long shot after his first exhibition game in Denver when he was targeted five times, but had no receptions.
