NFL PICKS WEEK TWO, 2012

Ok, now, me and John were both 8-8 last week. Here are this weeks picks.

1.) Green Bay Packers (0-1) at home (-5) vs. Chicago Bears (1-0)
The Packers underestimated the 49ers and then blamed the refs. The Packers have not adjusted to their opponents. Their last two games were losses at home. The Bears have added Brandon Marshall and Michael Bush and are simply more explosive than they have been in many years if not ever. This is a rivalry and five points are too many.

PREDICTION: BEARS TO COVER

2.) New York Giants (0-1) at home (-7) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-0)
The Giants looked as flat as the Packers in their loss to the Cowboys. Eli did play well, in spite of poor support. The Bucs sort of surprised people with their win at home against the Panthers. Coach Schiano is putting it all together in Tampa, but the Giants are not the Panthers and the Meadowlands is not in sunny Florida.

PREDICTION: GIANTS

3.) New England Patriots (1-0) at home (-14) vs. Arizona Cardinals (1-0)
The Cardinals travelling back east with Kevin Kolb at QB. Against Tom Brady and the Pats? Fourteen is a lot, but the Cardinals struggled to win against Seattle.

PREDICTION: PATS

4.) Minnesota Vikings (1-0) (-1.5) at Indianapolis Colts (0-1)
Minnesota had a fine comeback win against the Jacksonville Jags? The Colts and Andrew Luck looked better in Chicago than credited, but they're not in the Bears class. Adrian Peterson is back and that's the difference.

PREDICTION: VIKINGS

5.) New Orleans Saints (0-1) (-3) at Carolina Panthers (0-1)
Neither of these teams wants to fall to 0-2, but the Panthers just seemed to struggle. The Panthers may seek to keep Brees off the field with an aggressive ground game, but I'm not counting on it.

PREDICTION: SAINTS

6.) Buffalo Bills (0-1) at home (-3) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (0-1)
The Bills were never in their game against the Jets, but the Chiefs were at least tied at halftime against the Falcons. The Bills may be over hyped and both teams can run. Fitzpatrick keeps making mistakes at QB for Buffalo.

PREDICTION: CHIEFS

7.) Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) at home (-2) vs Baltimore Ravens (1-0)
Michael Vick did everything to lose to Cleveland last week. EVERYTHING. The Eagles Special Teams and defense played great. They'll need to play great this week, because the Ravens are for real. Right now, Joe Flacco is a better QB than Michael Vick. Go with your head, not your heart.

Prediction: Ravens

8.) Oakland Raiders (0-1) (-2) at Miami Dolphins (0-1)
Do the Raiders have a long snapper yet? They lost in Week one when they had no backup. Fortunately, the get the Dolphins this week. They've got nothing.

Prediction: Raiders

9.) Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) at home (-7) vs. Cleveland Browns (0-1)
Cleveland benefited from Vick's disoriented play last week, except they still lost. The Bengals were buzz sawed by the Ravens. The Browns got nothing.

Prediction: Bengals

10.) Houston Texans (1-0) (-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1)
MJD got more playing time than they let on, but the Jags are not in the Texans class.

Prediction: TEXANS

11.) Dallas Cowboys (1-0) (-3) at Seattle Seahawks (0-1)
Will Tony Romo revert to form and have his annual "throw away the win" performances? Not likely. Russell Wilson against the Cowboys defense is not promising.

Prediction: Cowboys

12.) Washington Redskins (1-0) (-3.5) at St. Louis Rams (0-1)
The Rams hung out with the Detroit Lions and RG III looked great against the Saints in New Orleans. The Rams don't have enough.

Prediction: Redskins

13.) Pittsburgh Steelers (0-1) at home (-5.5) vs. New York Jets (1-0)
Pittsburgh is looking older and the Jets looked alive last week. Five and a half is too much.

Prediction: Jets to cover

14.) San Diego Chargers (1-0) at home (-6) vs. Tennessee Titans (0-1)
The Chargers are fortunate the Raiders had no backup long snapper or they be on the wrong side of the record this week. Jake Locker has the goods but plays frenetically. Chris Johnson is MIA.

 Prediction: Titans to Cover

15.) San Francisco 49ers (1-0) at home (-7) vs. Detroit Lions (1-0)
Detroit pulled out a win against the Rams last week with ten seconds left on the clock. The old Lions would have lost this game. The 49ers put the league on notice that they can play and win anywhere by manhandling the Packers in Lambeau.

Prediction: 49ers

16.) Atlanta Falcons (1-0) at home (-3) vs. Denver Broncos (1-0)
Peyton Manning did not miss a beat. The Broncos looked super against the Steelers. The Falcons, however look explosive now that Julio Jones is making big plays.

Prediction: Falcons
